If the Devils played in a major market and not in Newark (or previously next to the NJ Turnpike), I really believe they'd be getting way more credit for their consistent play over the last 15 years or so.

I have to give credit to the Steelers, who have really created an identity for themselves with dominant defense on the field and smart coaching/management off the field. In a way, the Devils have done the exact same thing, only in a much smaller market in much less popular sport. They might not be the best run franchise, but they definitely deserve to be higher ranked if only because no other team has done more with less like the NJ Devils.
