Try turning the ps3 off on the back and unplugging it. Then plug it back in, hold the eject button, then flip the switch to turn it back on while still holding the eject. Worked for me when I got the ylod.

I don't know if it's been asked but haven't all ps2's and ps3's had a multicolor logo above the drive slot? It just seemed a little off that this one was silver.
