I breezed past this comment the first time. But this time I noticed the name. Interesting!
No I understand Fords reasoning & had previously hard that was going to be the case. The Engadget article made it sound like things had changed & they would be available on pre-2010 models. I was pointing out the differences in wording between the Engadget article & the reference article.
How do you get this "but owners of older models can also get in on the fun with an update coming early next week (installable via thumb drive). "

From this: "On May 26th, the upgrade will be made available to all current 2010 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury owners (you download the update to your PC, then transfer it to the SYNC system through a thumb drive) and all new 2010 models will be equipped with the upgrade from the factory. But as Ford CEO Alan Mulally promised, there's more on the way."

I got very excited but I think you are incorrect about older models. Its only 2010 models shipped before the 26th.

I'm in Delaware & have had those channels for about a week now. Now all we need is FX HD & I will be pretty happy.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
