I really hope all the boxes don't look this awful.
They should just blend the 2 colors and make it purple. Done.
The sad part for Sony is that they didn't make these batteries. They paid a contractor to produce them in China that didn't follow the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) standard. (you know that little UL stamp on the back of your electronics?) Yes, Sony will take the blame, and should have been monitoring their contractors more closely, but the reality is that these really aren't SONY batteries.
In fact...to continue, the local HD-PBS station here (WTTW) pumps out TERRIBLE HD content due to compression. Water turns to blocks, etc. I think DirecTV's HD image is the most consistent and is above par when compared to some of the crap that local over the air stations and even Comcast does.
GhostDoggy...um no, DirecTV is miles beyond EDTV and should not be compared. It is still 720p/1080i to the set. Now the compression is does effect the image, but it isn't even close to EDTV. Your comment is uncalled for.
I *hope*,I *hope*,I *hope* they have a exchange program for current directv hd-tivo owners...
I would think that the reason nightly news is still in SD is because most of the show is a compilation of news clips. Whereas the morning shows have a lot more "in-studio" time. Why spend big bucks updating the nightly news studio if if os only seen for a total of 60 seconds during an entire show?
I don't really care about the size. It is going to replace my current DVD upconverter, so as long as the cable are long enough, I don't care.

I really care about the release date and PRICE!!!
Cost of software???
Cost of R&D???

Come on guys, cell phones are more then just plastic, metal and silicon.
Universal HD is a HUGE letdown...don't be so said you don't have it. It is argubly has the worst quality of not only content, but picture feed. YUCK.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
