the venturer hd dvd player is indeed the same as the toshiba hd-a3. it even has the same firmware. at $199, it is quite a steal of a deal in canada, where it is $100 less then the a3.

according to wiki its a 1.0 ghz pentium m. i don't see how this thing has the power to do hd. i guess it'll be low bitrate 720p. still tho, my pc at 2.2 ghz can't even do that. guess it could have some hardware decoding.
ps3 remote is outselling hd dvd add-on on amazon. it is unlikely ppl are using said remote to play dvd's.
if you knew what hitachi's aLis is then it's not redundant.
not likely 1080i as plasmas are progressive except for the hitachi aLis which are stil progressive. 1366x768p
not true. no one has gotten windvd8 to go over 540p yet. windvd has admitted that they have intentionally restricted it due to concerns over aacs.
