i have a sharp 65 at 60hz. a sony at 120hz. and last week bought a sumsung 240hz.....my sharp at 60hz. is the better of the three.
three out of three people in my family agreed....and they have no clue what the refresh rates were......hz. is all about "hype" and sales, to make you spend more money for the lastest fad!
"the best customer is an educated consumer."
yawn....ho hum......

5.1...7.1....3-D

2 channel worked great for the last 50 years!

who needs all that noise anyway?.....BOOM...BANG.....BOOM!!

I'M getting a HEADACHE just thinging about..............sigh!

i love my 65" tv and blu ray and my stereo sound!.....and of course the thousands i've saved on the noise factor equipment!

i bet the rest of you can't wait for the next 9.1 or whatever to come out......LOL!

i bought a blu-ray for 99.00 at walmart just to upscale my dvd collection.i'm very content with the picture quality. i will only by a blu ray disc when its 2.00 more than a standard dvd. as for the rest of you......spend the extra money for the overpriced discs.you people, will be the ones, to help get this economy back on its feet.please keep up the good work!...and don't forget to download the overpriced downloads also.
to: rob&webdew511.....are you guys friends or foes?
i can not tell sometimes if you are being humorous or critical to each others posts.you both state your cases well.i enjoy reading your thoughts here.....
screw the blu ray disc....i bought it solely for upscaling my forever and ever 300 sd dvds.so worth the 98.00 for this purpose. they look great on my big 65 inch sharp lcd.

i will take my new 65 mitsubishi ''laser vue'' any day over plasma and lcd....rear projection is still very much alive! the colors are bright and the contrast is second to none.most of you people settle on price and not ''quality''.although $6995.00 is a lot of money,it is an investment made to last many years. lasers do not ever get weaker or fade over time. you get what you pay for in the long run! plasmas get too hot and all lcds have motion blur. and someday OLED will replace them both.[only when the price becomes affordable] just take a look at the sony oled 11'' screen. it speaks for itself. i was blown away at the CES electronic show last week when i saw it.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
