I'm getting one. I know more than 10 people that are getting one. You seriously think no one is going to buy one? Do you still believe in the tooth fairy?
@13- Prove it.

At 12.5 hours, Xbox 360 is already hitting the DVD9 storage cap. Great looking games, really freaking short.
Can't wait to get my hands on this (although I may have to). It's good to see that the finished product exists and is functional.

I almost wish it did run louder so I could block out all the Wii-tards insisting that graphics don't matter.
Nope. I'm with you. Too many screaming weinies on the "anti-Sony" bandwagon as it is.
Brilliant move by Sony, and here's why...

They were already planning to sell more 60 gig units than the 20 gig one. By adding HDMI to the 20 gig system, and dropping the price, Sony has guaranteed a sizeable showing on the lower end of the "first adopter" scale.

By doing so, they've eliminated that possiblity of people buying a 360/HD DVD bundle because its cheaper. People who here going to buy the 60 gig version weren't put off by the price before, so no need to touch that. Now the 20 gig SKU is value priced enough to make sense (a lot more than the MS core unit). This is the final nail in the Xbox 360's japanese coffin.

Anyone else think that that Sony set the price as high as they did so they could drop it now?

I thought this was a site to have discussions? I have yet to see any opinions posted here that have been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt pro or anti-Sony.

Because they're opinions. Everyone has one, and they're entitled. Sorry you feel so put out by that.
I just figured it out. It's not that no one here sees the "Dubious Rumor" part...

It's that they don't WANT to see it. I guess that's what you call fanboyism.

@65 - Unite against an evil empire of Sony, huh? and do what? Flock to the evil empire of Microsoft? Or perhaps the evil empire of Nintendo? If wanting to make money makes an empire evil, then you don't have a choice that will satisfy your staunch morality in this upcoming generation of video games. None of the big three are your "buddy". They want your money. Get over yourself.
Hey, whaddya know...I looked at the title of this piece, and it reads "Dubious Rumour". There must be a glitch on ther server or something because all of the comments here belong on an article entitled "100% Sure Thing".

Let's see how many PS3 rumors I can start here...hm...

Ah...the PS3 won't work on cloudy days because it's solar powered.

The Cell Processor gets its power by eating puppies and dolphins.

The USB ports on the PS3 come with the U only upon purchase. The S and B come seperately at 300 bucks a pop.

There, that oughta keep Captain Hyperbole and his Wacky Band of Wii-nietots busy for a while. Wait, I think I hear their battlecry now:

ZOMG!!?! PS3 AM TEH AUNTIE KRY$T!!!6!
To suggest that "gamers" as a whole (however that would be defined) support HD DVD based on the poll at Joystiq would be like polling people volunteering at the campaign headquarters of a political candidate, and asking who they're voting for. The results of that poll wouldn't be a fair indication of how the rest of the electorate was going to cast their ballots.
Hardly news-worthy.

The strongly anti-Sony sentiment at Joystiq makes for a very one-sided slant of the issue. They don't care about HD DVD, they just click on anything that takes a shot at Blu-Ray.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
