That's a staggeringly beautiful way to spend a Grand on Blonder Tongue antennas and Tin Lee electronics! I'm gobsmacked, really; I wish I had your hardware budget.
Actually, there is, but nobody uses it. The RCA DTV converter boxes even had a port to control such a thing ("Smart Antenna" port), but since nobody built an antenna rotator to the spec...nobody's bothering to build a controller.
I have the THX Optimizer from the Disney's Cars DVD on a thumb drive. I used Nero to get still frames from the VOB files, stored them as numbered BMP images, had a buddy use Photoshop to check the black levels and turn them into low-compression JPEG files. If I keep the THX glasses with me, too, I can do a quickie calibration on any TV that has a USB drive image player. I'm sure it's not perfect, but it's better than the default Torch Mode on almost any TV.
It /would/ be super-sweet to have dedicated PS3 buttons /and/ The Green Button, but it does have a button under the DVR controls that's called "Home"...
Actually, there's only a $300 spread between the LG 47LH90 at Best Buy ($1999) and the Samsung UN46B7100 ($2299, same as a UN46B7000 except gray instead of red ToC) or the 7000 at Crutchfield. Crutchfield also lists the Toshiba 46SV670. The SV670 also appears to be hard to find...most big vendors on CNet list it as out of stock. I see vendors on CNet listing the Sammy at under $2000 as well, but only as low as $1900 on the LG.
I'd have to see them side by side to see if the dimming and dejudder is less annoying on one than the other, but a street price delta of $300 (15%) makes the question harder to answer than the $1000 (52%) that you claimed. The fact that it only consumes 1w in Standby and 150w in Torch mode is pretty impressive. I'm also not a fan of the big-ish bezel and even bigger faux glass faux bezel on the LG. Worth 15% more? Maybe it is...
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
