There is no way I’m going to spend $1,000+ on a new computer that isn’t as good as my existing mediacenter just so I can legally use cable cards. Top that off with not being able to watch any of those encrypted recorded shows in my office and I would say I dont really have a choice. I'm going to watch the shows that I want to watch.

The inability for any service provider to offer a descent ala cart package at a fair price. I’m not spending a extra $20+ a month for the 1-2 channels that I will watch from the package deal.

The same thing can be accomplished for less than $1,200 and a day's worth of work using an infinite baffle setup. Assuming you havean attic, crawl space or large closet adjacent to the room you want bass in.
The problem with extenders has always been they do not extend the full mediacenter experience. Everything about them including the Xbox 360 is a compromise.

It sounds like someone needs to become good friends with his IT department. Rule #1 at any company is to take the Network,Server and desktop administrators out to lunch as soon as possible. It will make your life so much easier!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
