Try again now. Someone decided to embargo this news until 9am this morning... and then lifted the embargo in the middle of the night leaving some of us a bit unprepared... you know, without naming names.
H.264 is available as a video codec option under the media format AVI (and also the PSP/MP4 format and possibly some others).
No worries. I'm not offended, just amused. I think people assume all tech bloggers have bias... and usually assume it's a pro-Apple bias for one reason or another.

I wouldn't say I'm biased against Apple per se. But I'm not really a Mac user, so while I always get a kick out of comments claiming that I prefer one thing or another, it's especially funny when people accuse me of being a Mac fanboy.
Heh... I love it when people start talking about my Apple bias. To be honest, I've never owned an Apple computer and while I've used a Mac a bit for audio editing with Pro Tools and video editing with Final Cut, I haven't found much that's convinced me I need a Mac instead of a PC.

But there's no denying that the Microsoft store seems to take some design cues from Apple.

The clapping thing isn't unusual in retail though. I know of a number of other retail chains that encourage employees to do the crazy clapping thing at store openings -- some do it just when the store launches, others do it (or something equally silly) every day when the doors open.
Whoops!

Fixed. :)
When was the last time it was mentioned? I did a site search before writing this article and didn't see anything about it.
Because the site is called Download Squad, not frequently-updated-applications squad.

WinExt is a neat application that many people will find useful even if it has a few bugs. And we've never covered it before on the site so I wanted to let people know about it after I first learned about it.

It doesn't really matter if it hasn't been updated in a while. Some of the best applications around are oldies but goodies.
I don't have any yet. But it looks like Adriano has 3...
You mean the one I linked to in the body of my article?
True... but how exactly do they expect the target audience to even find the video?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
