What speakers do you have? Honestly, I don't think it will make an extreme difference if you are using powered computer speakers like a Z-5500 or something like that. If you have an Audioengine or M-Audio monitors, then it'll make a difference, but like the posters said above - unless you're trying to get 7.1 or something, just stick with onboard.

Me? I have a Macbook Pro, but I have it hooked up to a Harman Kardon AVR-247, which powers two Energy RC-10 monitors in a 2.0 setup. I use a Optical Toslink Cable so the HK and work as a DAC too. Before that, I had a Logitech Z-4 setup. That's a big difference. If you want better sound quality, invest your money in better speakers like the ones mentioned above (Audioengine A2s and A5s are a good choice for powered).
I thought many DLPs were already 3D capable? My friend has a Samsung HL67A750 and I remember it being advertised as 3D capable...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
