I just purchased this camera last weekend and I love it so far. My first D-SLR. Upgraded from an old Sony Cybershot. Even as a relatively novice user, I find the guide mode somewhat useless. I suppose there some who will benefit from it but it is a bit gimmicky for me. I really dig the built in user manual feature though. It's nice to have a quick reference to some of the features that I am unfamiliar with. I was tempted by the D5000 but ultimately I feel like it was worth the couple hundred in savings. I have a dedicated HD camcorder so it wasn't important to me to have movie mode on a still camera. I am happy I got a great D-SLR thats easy to use without breaking the bank. No regrets here.
Perfect! Cause it's my turn to win!
Ahh yes, How could I forget? That was pretty gimmicky on their part to lock it out of use with IR remotes just for the sake of using Bluetooth. I have two custom remotes (touchscreen/hard key) that would love to work with my PS3 but instead are useless with it. And I don't care for the clunky IR solutions that would be necessary to get them to work either!
I do agree that the PS3 is one of the best Blu-ray players on the market. The GUI as compared to my BDP-2550 is extremely slick and responsive. But since I am using an older Denon receiver the only way for me to take full advantage of all the latest codecs is to use 7.1 analog outputs which understandably the PS3 does not have. If it wasn't for that the PS3 would get an extra nod from me.
So for all others trying to achieve the same result the Oppo (or any other player that supports 7.1 analog outputs) seem to be better options in my opinion.
Will they ever add Netflix steaming to the device? I guess it's a fair trade-off though being that it does support both SACD and DVD-A. If my Samsung BDP-2550 had that it would be near perfect!
I want to win for once!
Man, go ahead and call me a Sprint fanboy but this just sickens me! I mean can't we just have a superior phone to ourselves for a while? Don't get me wrong, I completely understand the nature of Palm's history of working with a variety of carriers but wtf?

I feel I should explain my loyalty towards Sprint for 10+ years now (since I now I am the Minority). It's simple really: they are reliable and have been for me in my area and I pay a little for a lot! Adding the Pre to that formula is only going to make me happier:-)
Not that I care one bit about the iTunes ecosystem, but I was in an argument with someone yesterday that the only thing left that the iPhone has going for it compared to the pre was....itunes. Well until apple puts the nix on this I guess advantage pre!

The Pre is a no brainer for me since I get 3G coverage everywhere I am with sprint and would be on Edge 80% of the time with iPhone and at&t. Duh! Finally Sprint has a device worth waiting in line for!
Isn't the director Zach Snyder?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
