I guess I just don't see the point. You can already do this. And no extender support makes it kind of lame, I would rather watch on my television.

Two thumbs down.
Meh. Digital streaming will win in the end. I'll stick with my VUDU Box.
this guy right here.
I could rent 3 movies from VUDU in HDX for less than $20 a month.

This price increase seems a bit stiff.
hey, there's a ring. hey, i have a hat.
I have to say this is all getting a bit ridiculous. Tivo now has Netflix, Blockbuster, and Amazon. Roku has Netflix, Amazon, and will most likely shortly have Blockbuster.

My point here is that say you can't find the movie you want on Netflix. You are paying $9 for that subscription, but the movie isn't there. You find it on Amazon or Blockbuster and pay another $4 or $5 to rent it. Or vice versa, you can't find the movie you want on your Blockbuster or Amazon account so you have to sign up for Netflix.

The only winners here are Tivo and Roku. It is going to start getting costly for customers as they continually have to switch services to find the movie they want. Netflix has a wide range, but not the latest. Blockbuster has the latest, but not in the greatest quality. Amazon has a little of both and HD coming soon.

Lastly, this is why I don't understand why everyone champions the subscription model so much. Three different services with limited content, one subscription and two that are not. Seems it would be more cost effective to pay per view.
someday i wish to jump the shark.
I'm a little late to the game.
major lulz at the image.
i agree that digital distribution is awesome. apple does 720p max for HD. which i also agree is good for most people, and they won't realize the difference. it is possible to do 1080p through digital distribution. VUDU does this.

and i also agree that prices need to come down, but this is entirely up to the studios. $20 is the standard price for now and will remain that way for awhile.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
