This is not fair for people who have a fix frame 2.40:1 ratio projection screen. If he goes with this idea, he should make it as an option.
As bad as the acting of the old movies, I don't blame him. I wouldn't watch it on SD, how much more on HD. I'm sorry, but even if the story line was good, the acting was just bad. Too much over emphasis on the emotion rather than appearing natural.
Why do we need a 4k res when the biggest TV the mass consumers use is 42". Unless you have a >100" screen then you can tell the difference. It's like asking "Let's have all the movies in IMAX".
I have 2 CRT TVs and one plasma 720p, so no biggie here to get HD channels that I have to pay.
This is a very nice offer. Keep it up.
I guess all these extra features are for people who have no LIFE or WORK.

I even remember during the format war days that fanboys for both sides were arguing who's format had the better extra features. When BD won (I was BD all the way regardless of it's extra features), people were still complaining that for this or that movie, the studio didn't include the online interactivity and such. I just shook my head.
I'm actually sad that this is happening. I'm also surprised at the negative responses/experiences at blockbuster. I've been renting at BB since 2002 and I never had any problems mentioned above.

Also, I'd still say BB is better than any other online rentals. With BB, the stores plus the online access equals less time waiting to watch movies in blu ray. I can go ahead and watch the new releases on tue instead of waiting for very long queues. As for their mail-in movies, I never had any problems with the discs, except for a couple of wrong discs.

I'd say BB's problems are internal, just like how our economy went wrong.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
