With the economy and all the LED, OLED, LCD, revenge of Plasma, thin, super-thin, CableCard, wireless HD, (even wireless electricity) ... now is the time to wait for televisions to work out the kinks and get the NEXT NEXT generation ... unless you don't already have a HD tv that is.
Is this the first remote all-in-one to do this?
Are they implying that the remote weighs a lot (that it's heavy) or that it controls a lot?
I agree that they shouldn't reduce thickness that also reduces other qualities ... thinness is necessary though ... it usually means lighter, easier to handle, and easier to hang on a wall ... it usually look better too on the wall.

Now, @dagamer43 not everyone has (or uses) a surround sound system with their TV, so it is important that the speakers be adequate ... I do, but I would guess that a majority do not.
It's different because you don't have a physical HD in your cable box. Everything you select to record is recorded at the Cablevision server and then is streamed to your cable box over the network.

And the idea of no ff commercials really blows.
I saw both Dark Knight and Star Trek in the LieMAX at Cinema De Lux (White Plains) ... it's pretty much the same as a good digital theatre. Definitely NOT the IMAX experience as they would want you to believe. Still charged an extra 4 bucks per ticket. Complete and total rip off. This is something that should be addressed by the bureau of consumer protection. It is defnitely FALSE advertisment ... it's akin to pushing a EDTV as a full 1080p HDTV ... sure the EDTV might be a little better than SDTV, but it's not what HD really is supposed to be.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
