Squared off against the GTI and the Civic Si (especially in their price ranges), the MazdaSpeed3 doesn't look like it really can be beat. 64HP and lighter weight make it an easy choice given the fact that you know the handling will be on point.
Looks like a great car, but until some of these other manufacturers come with something close to the driving ease and available performance of DSG, i'll keep my choices between the A3 and the GLI (GTI is a longshot). There's definitely other things to love about both of those cars, but to me, the DSG puts them ahead. (Granted, the MazdaSpeed3 is probably aimed at a bit more boy racerish crowd than either of those cars.)
I think it's a good looking car. Ford needs more vehicles that don't make you yawn. The Fusion looks good and the Mustang is the Mustang, but what else does Ford have out there that isn't simply boring and sleep inducing? Yet another good (looking) car the Big Three keep from us. It seems they've started to realize design matters, but they keep letting things slip throughthe cracks.

Oh and Ford, you might wanna bring the European Focus here at some point. Just a suggestion.
That's what i figured. My apartment complex said they may upgrade the dish and stuff soon so hopefully i can upgrade.
Does anyone know if the new HD boxes are required to get the locals? I know they are for most of the new HD channels. That's really a pain because i think, from what I was told by my installer, that the satellite has to be changed as well and in my apartment i can't control the satellite.

I really want local HD channels. I almost switched to Charter just for that but switched back to Dish two days later because it was so terrible.
I don't think it's as ugly as many folks and might even venture to say it looks decent to good. But I'll save ultimate judgement until I see it in action and read some reviews. It seems like it will be tough to drive hard and fast because the power can't possily get to the ground. Only time and a few drives will tell.
Ummm... Apparently my first comment was erased but I called them and they said the local HDs are only available in NY. That's great... And all the HD channels are included in everything except the HBO and Showtime HD channels which are int he Platinum pack which includes all the premiums.
This blows. I just switched from Dish to cable yesterday so I could get my local channels in HD (no OTA where I live). I think I might switch back to DISH next week after the Superbowl. Apparently, only NY has local HD channels, kinda crappy to tell you it's based on location cause that location is only NY.

Oh well, 23 HD channels is a whole lot so I'm pretty sure I'm going back to DISH to get full use of my TV.
#4... Do you really need a seven speed DSG in a car that size? Just get the A3 S-Line quattro. I want one, but damn Audi and their pricing.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
