I concur, this is simply a push into a market to increase the chances of their mobile OS succeeding. I'll stick to my Zune Pass, it's not free, but it's highly functional and has everything I'm into right now.
I really don't understand why people are giving Windows Mobile such a hard time, especially when TouchFLO is active. The only time I see the base operating system is when I'm dealing with text messages and using the SIM manager, everything else can be done from TouchFLO. I really willing to bet that the people people who give winMo 6+ a hard time either owned the LG Incite or some previous version of windows mobile, or they just like using fancy terms like M$ and winBlow cuz it probably looks extra fancy on their iPhone.
depending on when you got out of diapers, that would very easily explain the reason why you can't :-). I'm 26, and I don't remember.
I'd be pretty certain that as you upgrade the machine itself, they'd swap the PSU for one that will run it in a stable configuration.
Wasn't there another study that said something that on average, 360 users spend nearly 2x the time on their consoles than PS3 people and 6x the time Wii owners spend? You think that may have something to do with the failure rate? I know my RRoD'd once, but hell, it's on almost 8 hours a day between gaming use and media center functions, and I think it deserves more slack than it's getting.
MSDN subscribers have the RTM copy available for acquisition as of last week. Of course, any type of software is available through other means well in advance, but the legit versions of it have only just started making the rounds...Retail release is actually October 22, which is when your pre-order will ship, along with people like myself who got the free upgrade option that came with their summer computer purchase.

welcome to engadget.
when I last checked, they didn't come with an x16 slot, so no video card upgrades, so that sucks. And you can't really upgrade the CPU much further with it's proprietary cooling solution and power supply
I was actually waiting for these laptops to ship here in the States before I posted my desktop on ebay, I find myself on the go more than I used to, a desktop ties me down. Guess I better get my specsheet in order...
This can definitely replace my cramped Rosewill case I bought cuz it was shiny...Shiny is never good, never good...
Some people are turned off by the whole "it's just a gimmick to sell Blu-Ray players". I disagree, i think the functionality of the games only enhances the player, but doesn't change their minds. Also, the games aren't exactly popular with the PS3 that aren't also for the 360, hence the move to make Ghostbusters exclusive. Add that to mainstream theories about the PS3 being evil Sony, Xbox having Netflix, and Xbox Live being awesome while PS3 pushes second life only, and suddenly you have an explanation, a pretty weak one, but mob mentality doesn't require much. I have a 360, but I got it before the PS3 was available. I've yet to get a PS3 because, well, times are hard, and I'd rather fix my car than get another game system when I mostly just play Gears of War 2, you know?

And while my machine didn't RROD or E74, it did burn out the DVD drive, which they replace PDQ, even when it was out of warranty, so that's cool.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
