It takes a lot of chutspa to comment on the latest trek to the North Pole...ostensibly to comment on shrinking ice...and find that the reverse is true. Oh, I forgot. We can't talk about global warming any more. It is now "climate change." That means, whatever the climate does, it proves man is doing something wrong that needs to be corrected or we will suffer the (hopefully, dire) consequences.

Real scientists don't start experiments with conclusions. They get the data first, and then go where the data takes them.

First, when did the Arctic become a continent??? You should tell Al Gordo--he would be thrilled to find that out.

Second, why should we believe anything from someone who invents continents to prove his points???

Just in case you don't get it, Antarctica is a continent. There's no such place as "Arctica."

Huh? I think they have the bandwidth. 4 additional state of the art satellites in 2 years, each with 32 transponders, each transponder capable of 4-6 HD channels. Three are up now, and the last one launches before the end of the year. Let's see: 128 transponders with let's say an average of channels. That's 640 HD channels ADDITIONAL capacity. I think that's sufficient.

You are not upgrading an upgrade. The first install is a "clean" full install. You can only use this for 30 days and it will stop working. You are "upgrading" only in the sense that when you activate it, Microsoft sees that you are activating the upgrade product.

The clean install means simply that there is nothing cluttering up your registry with artifacts from the previous XP (or other) installation.

I listen to XM on DirecTV and Sirius in my two cars. There is a LOT to be desired on sound quality on both services. XM should devote the additional bandwidth taken up by 5.1 to improving the sound on existing channels. Sirius' sports channels sound quality make them unlistenable. My crystal AM radio I built as a kid had better sound quality!

These services are marketed as having superior sound (compared to what?) and programming (I listen to maybe 5 channels on either XM or Sirius.

I have spent (not invested) $35,000 in my home AV system. I have late model BMW and Audi cars. I'm not averse to spending money on things that I enjoy. But I would cancel Sirius completely, except my wife wants it. I don't pay anything for XM on DirecTV, but if they ask $3.00/mo, I'm not buying--5.1 or 20.1!
