Not interested in having Bush rendered on my TV set in low definition, much less high definition. Thanks for the warning.
A few unique predictions:
(1) DirecTV will finally complete their MPEG4 HD technolology, have HDDVR hardware and a package people can understand.

(2) Movies over the internet - evein in 1080p will be commonplace.

(3) Intel+Apple+Google will announce a jointly developed Media Center platform that will take the market by storm.

(4) TiVO will be acquired by Google.

(5) I'll finally stop deliberating and buy a DSLR camera.

happy new year.
Frustrating to figure out just exactly what DirecTV has to offer in High Def. They now have CBS, NBC, Fox in Dallas transmitted via satellite using MPEG4 but they say they don't have a HD-DVR that handles MPEG4. WHo in there right mind not do DVR?? :-)

I would go with Comcast but they do not offer LOGO. It's a gay oriented channel but you know us homo's, we need our gay programming .. !!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
