My biggest gripe with these media players is they don't support out of the box external cd/dvd/blu-ray drives.

I know there are firmware hacks to support this but its darn right stubborn of the manufacturer not to support it.
Exactly,

If companies actually put to market what they can actually manufacture now, we'd be farther ahead. They hold back of course so they can sell more product that way.
Am I missing something?

This bracelet could automatically scan for open wifi networks and automatically connect and send a phone home signal?

thats really neat and definitely versatile little device.
My company at working is starting to use instant messaging on our computers. We all have blackberry's?
Is there client app for the PC that would work with our internal blackberry enterprise server so that you can instant message on the PC and get up from your desk and then continue the conversation on your blackberry?

This would be really useful as , now we are using an open source client / server setup and the BBM, having BBM on both platforms would be very useful.

One of the whole points in being rich is to let everyone know it. Carrying this in your hand doesn't tell anyone about your status.
Its a non-descript phone that can't be identified more than a handful of people on the planet as costing 10,000 dollars.

So why bother, its okay to drive by in a ferrari, and everyone knows your rich, thats fine, but with this phone you have to explain with words your rich, which is very faux pas.

oh well...
Considering this is a third world country, I think its a great idea. It's not sad at all, its using old yet completely viable technology witht he latest technology. The big tech companies will poo poo it, while secretly developing it and selling it at over inflated prices in the developed world.

The only constraint this system has it that the transmitter on the sick animal will transmit to the box that activates the solenoid switch, so you won't know which animal is sick in the field. You'll have to use more manual means to determine which one it is. But at least now you know you have a animal in the field running a temperature. Likely they only have a few animals any way since it is subsistence farming.
Hi,

Regarding the comment made about the actor in Gladiator, Phoenix. He has a cleft lip which is a birth defect. He may already have had surgery to correct it or it was a minor defect and he never chose to have it corrected. Either way surgery on it may not improve it.

He's a insane rapper now so it likely the last thing on his mind right now.
It has one USB port. Would you be able to add a USB hub to it and add multiple hard drives?
Is it sturdy, can it survive being jostled around inside a backpack?

Can you adjust the monitor viewing angle in different lighting conditions?

Does it perform a real purpose? or does it exist simply for the sake of being different?
I don't see why Psion should'nt win, if of course they have enough money to fight the legal battle.
This is about money really.

Doesn't Microsoft have trademark on the english word : Windows?

It's completely ridiculous in the first place that 2 common place words when compounded together can even be trademarked in the first place.

netbook is a new word, that's it, end of story.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
