Last I heard, Spore was going to use a new 3D rendering method where it used crazy algorithms to procedurally generate all the content you see using your CPU. Hopefully that plan is still in effect, since it puts most of the work on number crunching rather than your GPU. I would KILL to have Spore work on my MacBook. Plus, it's Robin Williams endorsed, and you can't go wrong with that!
Fun fact: Fox is Blu-ray only. If they DO ever end up making a Halo movie... well then. Wouldn't that just be an interesting situation?
Sony owns a chunk of Square Enix. Get over it. By the way, PS3 outsells the 360 five to one in Japan. Where Final Fantasy sells a lot more than the US (not that it sells peanuts in the US, but you know what I mean). Much more than say, Devil May Cry 4 does in Japan, which, I think sold MORE in the US than in Japan, but I'm not sure. Don't quote me on that or anything, heh. If Squeenix REALLY wanted to make uber-profits, they'd put everything on the Wii or DS.... food for thought. As a final aside, if anyone EVER compares Halo 3 to FFXIII again, you should be banned from all Weblogs Inc. sites. Apples and freakin' burgers there, people. Not even close in any way.
This movie is going to be an acid trip too. I mean... look at the cast list. Speed is played by the asshole from Alpha Dog. No, not Justin Timberlake. Cool part about the monkey though. Andy Serkis is probably disappointed...
If your monitor (or more likely, your TV) has an HDCP-DVI connection, you won't need this to avoid the 540p problem. My old(er) Sony CRT has only a DVI connection and not the newfangled HDMI connection, but it's amazingly got HDCP. A nice move on Sony's part. Not too many TVs sport HDCP on their DVI connection (whereas all HDMI connections do). Monitors with HDCP-DVI are even rarer. I can't remember ever seeing one in person.
And for the record, this cake is badass.
Has the entire readership of Joystiq suddenly been replaced by a bunch of nitpicky nitwits? This is ridiculous.
And by you all, I mean, just the tools who thought I somehow became the antichrist for suggesting some variety and whatnot.
Well, fuck you all then, jeez. Why the hell should I be barred from ever designing games because I think a first-person shooter should um, be in first-person? Or that a game should have more than one model in multiplayer? This is the most assbackwards logic I have ever seen. There's nothing wrong with having different size characters. You know why? BECAUSE IT'S STILL HUMAN SHAPED. Jesus. Look at any other fucking FPS. Are all the models EXACTLY the same? No. They're not. So you guys can all have fun sucking on the teat of Master Chief. Fanboys are idiots.
Better graphics, not this Halo 2 HD crap. Also, more multiplayer models are DESPERATELY needed... it is so lame that everyone looks practically the same. Come on, now. This is 2007. Granted, they shouldn't have ridiculous looking fools (I'm looking at you Quake 3 Arena), but they should have more than just Master Chief. A third-person view would be a stupid idea too. It's not like Gears of War, that's for sure... anyone ever use third-person in UT? I hated it.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
