What claptrap and phony 'concern' by Panasonic. Oh yes, let's support these wasteful organizations intent on reducing our standard of living.
I like the 2:35 cropped to fit my 16:9 screen. It would be very rare that anything significant is lost. We all clamor for large images, the cropping helps. Cropping to 1:33 significantly dilutes the image and is unacceptable.
I did exactly that. Went out to get an Aquos and ended up with a Bravia. Happy with it too.
(Charles M. Are you some sort of a dumb-ass?)"c.Lake"

(It's Idiots like you) "Mike A."

Apparently I'm not as dumb as Mike and c.Lake.

All three of my HD display devices have HDCP compliant HDMI inputs. I also was an early adopter with an HD CRT display that I sold three years ago when I first learned of HDCP.

The whole copy protection scheme will soon be defeated and you guys that have lagged behind will be able to enjoy your HD too.

I do agreee, the motion picture industry is the dumb-ass.
Get over it. Buy HDMI equipped components and enjoy the HD moving pictures.
Given the high price of the Gefen HDMI switches, I suppose it will be more than $500. It will certainly provide a lot of utility. Very very cool device if it works well.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
