I was wondering why this functionality is not standard as well. The only reason I can see to exclude support would be the possibility that some folks would only use a mouse and keyboard, taking away from the sales of additional controllers.

No, Dave, I think he means the average computer user who does not know much about Linux. Generally folks go into the store and expect to buy a computer with Windows installed. Unless there is a glaring sign alerting them to the fact that Linux installed, they won't know until they take it home and realize that Microsoft Office won't work.

Linux is still a mystery to many users.

I played with one of the pocket projectors about a year ago. It was similar in size to the MBP-100, and it actually fit in my front pant pocket. Of course, there is room for nothing else, and it looks really weird to walk around with a giant block at the front of your pants.
