My friend's little cousin (whom I will refer to as "the kid") was visiting him at college, and we all started playing Goldeneye on the N64. All of a sudden, the kid starts bragging about how awesome he is at the game.

At the same time we were about to start playing, some pizza that we ordered arrived, so everyone put their controllers down except for me and the kid. I was really hungry, so I just played with one hand while the kid ignored the pizza and played with both hands.

I destroyed him with one hand while eating pizza, 20 kills to 1. It was awesome.
Launch day console. No returns yet. And if it does break, I'll just return it to Costco. :)
I'm another newbie to the Xbox platform. And it should speak volumes that I love my 360 but pretty much hate every other Microsoft product out there. I just think they've done a great job in creating both the system and the Xbox Live network.
Not sure if I'd pick up today, but I played the original to death on my Sega Saturn. At that time, the game was friggin incredible (at least to me).
Tak,

When he showed the stats on the game console, it was very much an illustration of why they WOULD NOT enter that market. It's not big enough to be worth their investment. The argument was that the cell phone market is so big that capturing just 1% of the market means huge returns.
As both an Apple fan and a recent Xbox 360 fan, I'm wondering about the competition between Apple's upcoming iTV (January) and Xbox Live. Both will offer streaming video from the computer (though the 360 doesn't stream from a Mac yet), and both will offer HD content if the rumors about the iTV are true.

I'm just wondering if MS actually is going to do what I thought wasn't possible: steal my money from Apple on a competing product. If the Xbox Live service provides what I want, I won't feel a need to buy the iTV since I'm already paying for Xbox Live (and loving it).
Anybody happen to know if you can watch that HD WMV version of Terminator 2 that was included with the special edition DVD? I'm wondering if I'd be able to just pop that DVD in and watch the HD version through my 360 since it's a WMV file (unless I heard wrong). Anybody? Bueller?
I'm trying to clear the cache of "old" games before the onslaught of November: COD3, Gears of War, and Rainbow 6. So right now I'm playing a lot of Table Tennis... and I'm really starting to hate that bitch Solayman.
I loved my Saturn and hated the PS for stealing away games. Virtua Fighter 2, Sega Rally, and all of the Panzer Dragoon games were incredible. I also remember really getting into Tomb Raider on the Saturn.
I'm happy for the guy. But I'm sad for any kid who looks at his success and thinks he can replicate it.

Using his MJ example... how many kids devote their high school/college years to becoming athletes and fail? I'm thinking that videogame skills level out much faster than athleticism (i.e. there are a lot of gamers near the same level of skill), and I think there are MANY more people who are deluded with their videogame skills than people deluded with their athletic skills.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
