Just a heads up... I was on the Universal Studios tour last week where they film DH. There was a wrecked two engine (prop) small plane on "Wisteria Lane" which you could see from the tram. Although we weren't allowed down the street because the guide said they were filming DH.

Looks like a plane wreck is coming to the show.

I would also like to add, the premise that the protest had no effect pre-orders because they are 4 times the original is silly. There is simply no logic to that statement.

Are you really saying Valve couldn't have possibly sold more pre-orders? Maybe if the situation had been handled differently, pre-orders would have been 5 or 6 times that of the original.

I actually don't think that the protesters had much effect on pre-orders, that is not my point. My point is that just because there are a lot of pre-orders doesn't mean there could not have been a lot more. With the information you have provided, there is simply no way to tell.
OK, I see like many other media outlets you largely miss the point of the people that were upset with how L4D2 was handled.

When L4D shipped, one of the few criticisms with the game was that there really wasn't much to it. In an attempt to overcome this criticism Gabe Newell/Valve told anyone that would listen, that they were going to add a lot more content to the game. Because of Valve's past history of doing the same thing with previous games, many people took them at their word.

The only real question here comes down to, "Did Valve deliver on their promise?' Personally, I feel they haven't. Sure, some extra content has been delivered (no doubt some of which came about because the uproar). And they may indeed delivery more in the future. The problem is that they now have split the market for online play. Many will switch to L4D2 and the L4D community will shrink making games/players harder to come by.

Most people don't have a problem with how Valve is handling L4D2. I don't think that is unreasonable. However, I also don't believe it is unreasonable for a person to believe Valve has not delivered on what they, themselves promised.

After playing the demo, it also reinforces by belief that the game is not even close to being a new game. The new melee weapons add little or nothing to the game play and the other new weapons are rather dull. Regardless of the controversy, this is a $19.95 game/upgrade at best.
Agreed. There is nothing in this demo that would get me to buy the game if it is priced above $25.

WTF!!??? Why did they design that manual with bold type? It is awful. Somebody contact these guys and get the manual switched to a typeface more appropriate for reading large amounts of text.
Based on how short they made the single player campaign of Modern Warfare, I am guessing they aren't releasing a demo because it would probably end up being 50% of the single player game.

Seriously, if you pay more than $20 for this game you made a mistake. Wait for it to hit the bargain bin.
Just to be clear, California is no longer giving out those stickers and they haven't been doing so for several months. The only people this will affect are those that already have the stickers.

Amazing! They have escort services in Japan? Who would have guessed?

Given the large amount of compression Apple employs on their standard def and high def videos, I would think g would be all you really need for video streaming. Even if you are creating your own videos, if they are created with Touch compatibility in mind, g is plenty.

I will say it would be a nice feature to have though. Simply being able to turn off g compatibility in my wireless router and go strictly with n mode would have some benefits.

This "the Touch is a gaming machine BS" reminds me of Jobs comment about Blu-ray being a "bag of hurt". Basically, it is made up crap to over up Apple's questionable product mix/features decisions.

If the iTouch being a game machine is so important, why are they selling the $199 model which doesn't have the powerful CPU/GPU hardware of the larger capacity models. It will always be a second class citizen when it comes to gaming. Heck, some games may end up being unplayable.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
