So Ben!
I am desperate to know if the 120Hz really made images smoother? On bluray/hd dvd playback, and over the air broadcasts? I have the LN40M86BDX, the first of this awesome run of continuously improving samsung models, and the only thing I dislike is the blatant blurring in panning shots, whatever the source... so does the 120Hz actually work at smoothening, and is 24p that much better for BD/HD DVD?

THANKS!
Lee
Blatantly the wall of pure bodies... CLASSIC!

Why must one format 'die'? If one was going to die it would have happened by now, and why would Samsung be releasing a dual format player, and I guaruntee others will follow... as soon as dual players are on the market, what's the need for any 'war'? I personally cannot wait for samsung's combo player, means I can lose the sub standard hddvd add on for the 360, and sell that lousy PS3!
What is it with all these stories lately which are always talking down to HD DVD as if blu ray have 'won'? It makes me sick, firstly hd dvd is never going to go away as both formats are making money, secondly the only reason that they may be 'beaten' is thanks to posts like this and others which portray blu ray as victorious and superior... what is sony funding engadget now? I buy and enjoy both formats like any true fan of film, they are equally mindblowing and the titles on each are just as good, in fact I have way more hd dvds than blurays! Am I the only one sick of hearing about blu ray 'winning'? And for goodness sake all those fanboys who seem to have sided with one format, GET A LIFE! Cos as soon as your favourite movie is exclusive to the other, your screwed! ...retards
Well, seeing as PS3 is clearly not a games console, but a BD player that plays a few shoddy games, it should at least upscale DVDs, and not being able to stream media is shocking! The look has actually grown on me, but as for the SIXAXIS rubbish, and online play, why did they even bother?!

Was just awesome to see this thing come together, read every part from the early child like diagrams (which gave me doubts), right through to that beautiful HD shot from The Fifth Element... STUNNING!

2005 - Unpacking the Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is the greatest console there has EVER been... its design, technology and beauty made this article pornographic for millions. This was the simply the best day of the past decade!

2004 - 3G is so last week

This still makes me laugh today, and perfectly illustrates how far the UK is behind the other side of the world. 3G still sucks here, and Japan were reporting HDTV broadcasts via 4G almost 3 years ago!
TOTALLY! as soon as apple announce something, it is always 'better' than everything else, and worth a massive price tag... wonder if they will ever disclose how much one of these ibricks ACTUALLY costs to make, cos you can get soooooooooo much better for sooooooooooooo much less! Apple sell on a brand name, and marketting, they DO NOT produce the 'best products in the world' like this Timothy claims, far from it! Whoever buys the ibrick is a victim of this, and is the loser. You can get 'free' phones that blow this thing away, and they aint worthless cos its the foundation of selling contracts, but I guess Apple wouldn't really understand that would they, cos they have never made a phone before (and still haven't)! So when a spokesman like this comes out like this, just leave him in his imaginary world of superiority and market dominance... I bet he won't use one if it's given to him for free!
Wow, what a useless article! Whats the point in writing something - LCD vs plasma - as if the author thought it was good time to draw some conclusions, when he doesnt actually achieve ANYTHING! Go out and compare them then, why compare a plasma to a LCD double the price? I think this article made me dumber!!
I was hoping to get a straight answer, will an LCD of contrast 10000:1 or so produce as good blacks as a plasma of the same spec? And how black is this, say compared to the nice glossy black frame, is it a good black, or still no where near?!
I know its already been mentioned, but a few millimeters difference! What a retard, they are both less than 1mm thick, know your role pal, geez!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
