well.. I'm humbled for a guy whose motto is 'I'm not always right, but I'm never wrong' LOL.

My appreciation... Engadget just changed my daily life (and that's saying something). As a long-time DirecTV customer (12 years), and 'top timer' market analyst, I was incredibly using multiple monitors not only for stock charts, but for financial and regular news coverage. Was not aware of 'news mix' nor the switch to FoxNews in HD (similar to FoxBusiness display).

As the pioneer of financial television (later an original CNBC market maven), I'm embarrassed but will fess-up to having missed this, and unnecessarily complicated my news monitoring. I only wish they would put CNBC World into the mix, and just nix the Weather Channel.

thanks to Engadget for doing more than enlightening me about the latest gizmo's.. wow!

(and the market hasn't made a low yet; stay tuned)
since when is Fox News broadcast in HD?

Fox Business is in HD; and is a 'training center' for FoxNews personnel; but as the most bearish analyst for the last two years, I see them all; and FoxNews is not yet in HD daily (on DirecTV which would have them if it existed). Looking forward to it though, and to a bottom in the market; but not yet LOL

good job Engadget by the way!

Impressive; but note this is 'pulsed', which is easier to do than 'continuous' lasers. We've been on-top of a company doing 'semiconductor lasers' which are 'continuous', and from a CalTech/MIT team that is working with the military too.. QPC Lasers. So we'll see how this goes; though no argument that DEW (Directed Energy Weapons) will use solid-state rather than chemical-based lasers... our main point in our 2 years of our ingerletter.com review on this subject; starting with Ionatron, Northrop and now QPC.

not only are banner adds an affront to easy navigation of the DVR guide, but since implementation of this, the remote controlling of their guide has suffered; ie: it 'hangs' more than before; plus is considerably slower ...what to expect for over 160 a month (privacy as well as service and efficient equipment ?). Now we have to pay extra for the upcoming TiVo overlay, which ought to be 'standard', or simply a normal GUI for the Motorola DVR would suffice.. too bad they don't focus on larger hard drive capacity and operational finesse rather than this kind of further commercial intrusion..

A bit more complex use: DVI-out to HDMI-in for internet-based computer stock quote displays while simultaneously displaying financial and news TV screens in miniature. One from the TV set (PIP) and the other in the computer via it's own signal generation. A PS3 may also be attached on the 2nd HDMI input. If cable-card is available, digital HDTV is also concurrently available. With PIP these can be alternated. I am surprised the idea of checking email and/or web surfing while watching football or other TV hasn't caught-on more in the U.S., and suspect it will over time.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
