Oh, and the box's model controller model number (on bottom of the box) is the same as the black controller as well, and does not match the model number of the controller, off by one character.
I am the one that bought that controller. Me and a friend did some researching ased on the numbers on the back that certify it's use in each country (wireless technology related stuff) and it's standards point to it being made for Singapore market.

My theory is that all of the controllers are manufacturer and boxed in the same plant, regardless of where it's to be sold. Someone must have mixed something up because a white controller ended up in US packaing. As for the French comments, go look at a regular DS3 box, they have English and French on the front as well (I assume for Canadian reasons).

I assume you it's no hoax, it's just a manufacturing mix up.

@B3astofthe3ast The ones your Play n Trade has (I love those stores, spend a shitton with them) are Japanese imports. They have Japanese AND English on them, like the US ones have Eng and French.

As yes, 10% is employee discount at Walmart.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
