You are blind as a bat. 14 billion and 85% illegal. You really think that the studios are going to give up making money? You sir are the one with your head up your own a$$. I like how BD has gone from being dead, to being a thing that collectors will keep alive. You are a joke and no one takes you seriously!
It's hard to believe how short sighted people are. 2011 is quite a way off. Analog T.V. hasen't even been shut off yet. Just think how many people are going to be going into stores at the start of March and saying things like "my T.V. dosen't work anymore, I need a new one" It still works; but there are lots of sales people that are going to be selling cheap HDTV's with digital cable pakages, and chances are that by March of Next year; becasue of Chinese BD players hitting shelves before christmas '08. All the big guys will be doing promos so they can "sell" their BD players with their T.V.'s. It's really going to be a shock to some people around Christmas 09 when chepo brand BD players are on the shelves at Wal Mart for $125. It just still blows me away that bloggers think that giant companies that make millions(billions) of Dollars don't know the things that you ppl know. They KNOW that BD has to come down in price fast, way faster then DVD, they are just simply sucking people in slowly to get as many impulse buyers as they can this year($$$). Which sucks and is the reason that I bought and supported HDDVD. Life goes on.
Not sure if anyone made this point yet, I didn't read all 121 comments. However a human being that can't add should never been given the right to speak in public. Quote from the interview: "Think back to GDC 2007 when Sony promised to leap ahead in online with the Sony Home unveil. Here we are two years later and multiple delays for a product...."
When was GDC 2008 again? Oh ya hasen't happened yet..... SO here we are not even a year later; and M$ is trying to pull whatever they can to stay ahead of the PS3. This man is a shill and a moron!!!
I have a 60gig, there seems to be an issue with playing Divx files over 2gig's. It only comes up with corrupt data, however the file plays fine on my pc.. Interesting......
I could give a shit less about 2.0; give us DTS MA... There are lots of BD's with DTS MA.... Also is there any real proof that the PS3 is unable to bit stream HD audio. Or is this just a rumor? I understand that it can't do it right now(the horse is dead). I just can't find any real proof that the HDMI port in the PS3 in unable to send HD audio. Any help would be great, thanks.
I have a 2808 pretty much the same thing(different video processor, and the 3808 has 20 extra watts per channel). NO the PS3 will not bitstream TrueHD or DTS HD or MA; and NO you are not getting any form of DTS MA track out of your PS3. Your "A/V guy" sounds like a salesman trying to make some money. I was talking to a chap at SECA, about this issue, and he hinted at the fact that in the future the pS3 will decode and bitstream DTS MA and DTHD, I guess we will just have to wait and see.....
lol everyone sayd that the ps3 is selling horribly and that they are sitting around. but if you look at the numbers the ps3 has sold 2 million ps3's in 2 months. that means that by 1 year after its release there should be 12 million ps3 sold. xbox only sold 10 million after 1 year and one month

Exactly. Also Can you imagine how many blu-ray movies will be out there if there is that many PS3's in a year. OOo that's gotta sting if you are in the HD-DVD camp
Ya pervs can get there porn on-line.
With all the company's that are producing blu-ray and a company like warner developing a hybrid disk so there movies will be on blu-ray, why would it fail. BD movies will take over becasue anyone who watches one is pretty much hooked. All I keep thinking is why anyone would think that 1080i is better, when almost everyone I know changed ther DVD player to a progressive scan a few years back(480i to 480p you know). Why even bother with interlacing when it seems most people prefer progressive scan. Also all this talk about triple layer HD-DVD's and quad BD. That is the next gen stuff what ya seen now is what you get. There has been a HDV disk that has been rumored for a year that is 200 gb, but that is for 10 years from now. So if you want to wait ten to twelve years to jump into the HI-def world that's your choice, but bashing ppl for something that there system has that they are talking about seems ignorant.
Ha ha. It's too bad those 10 million people out there just helped line Bill Gate's pockets. Even this new version with a fancy new HDMI connection and bigger hard drive is OLD!. If I owned a 360 I wouldn't even bother with a new one that produces 1080p(BS the xbox native res is 1080i). It still doesn't have a HD/DVD drive intregrated. They are just trying to catch-up untill they release there new system. PS3 has an upgradable hard Drive, so if 60 gig's isn't enought, Im sure the 200 gig that has been rumored for the Ps3 should hold you for a while. Seriously don't bother spending another $400 for the system and $200 for the HD/DVD add on just spend the $600 on the 60 gig PS3 and realize that there games are on BLu-ray not DVD's so the system will actually be usable in 4 years. Remeber all you 360 guy's if they start putting games on HD/DVD for the 360 you'll have to upgrade.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
