Right now it is a transitional period. I think it was wise to have Congress mandate HD convergence but its the TV company's fault for not keeping up with the times (even though they have the technology and resources. But having the ATSC tuner is a must!
excuse me!!!!! I work in one of the "big box stores" and i have known about this for over a year now. keep your retail comments to yourself because i know my knowledge exceeds your tiny brain molecules. I can't wait for HD!
Sony phones are kewl, but im going to keep my TV, cellphone, digital camera, and my DVR seperate. Though it is a nice design, catchy look, i dont think this phone will expand a whole lot but it doesnt look like it will be THAT big. Think of their digital cameras or old cell phones where you where carriering around a brick. (quite complaining.) I love this idea but I would never buy it.
so kewl!!!! I've been waiting for them so come out with some GOOD movies on blu ray. I love it!
ok so kinda a neat idea but........... who cares. This really isn't a revolutionary idea because REAL techno geeks have both. My question is will it cost more for the disc????? The big deal is you can't watch a blu ray and an HDDVD at the same time so is this really neccassary?
got your attention enough to post this comment. People dont give sony enough credit for being one of the leaders in technology advancements! Yeah there stuff is a lil pricy and it can look "different" but that is what the world is coming to.
Ok I live in STL and yeah it is a big deal. So CBS doesnt produce a lot of HD programing (except for dog shows) but it is the fact that Charter Communications doesnt want to pay for the Digital programming. Of course I didnt want to watch the Superbowl this year b/c of the Rams not going, but who cares. Hook up an antenna! Stop complaining and get Dish Network or DirecTV!!!!! They are cheaper
This is kewl I get it..... but do i really want my advance TV looking like an old console! NO! I want my flat panel looking like a picture fame not with coat hangers on the back of it. Now if they could make an hidden antenna that goes behind the flat panel tvs that can be disguised into the mount how kewl would that be. I'd buy it.
Monster invention on the clean power mount is soooo incredible. Now you can have the satisfaction of your TV not having any dirty power and you don't have to purchase one of the flat panel power surge protectors. (which range from $59.99 to $199.99) But did they make this TOO extensive? Atleast it looks kewl.
I just hope this merge doesnt mean i have to upgrade my 5 LNB dish again.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
