I agree too. It's a perfectly logical move, if you ask me, for cable companies to deliver the same content they deliver over a cable connection, via the Internet as well. They have all those content relationships in place and the networks want to see their content available online.

And who knows... maybe the cable company even gets the user interface and delivery model right (like Hulu has)! That'll be the tough part of this for them IMO.
FYI, we've stopped selling Beyond Media and it's been no secret for at least the last two years that we weren't actively developing on the Beyond Media product. I had openly posted about this in our forums along with the reasons why. We've also gladly given refunds to people who explicitly bought Beyond Media on the promise of the combination of Beyond TV and Beyond Media.
To get the full program guide transparently displayed over live TV in Beyond TV, press F7 while watching live TV or a recorded program.

"the site has no advertising and no other visible means of revenue generation"

Hey Brad, This isn't true. Pretty much every page on the site has advertising on it.
Here's the post that Timmy's referring to: http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/showthread.php?t=43398

You can judge for yourself about the future of Beyond TV.

We support the HVR-950 right now so just using this device (the HVR-950Q) as an ATSC TV tuner will work just fine. It's the QAM part of it that we don't support, yet.
You might be interested in taking a look at SnapStream's Beyond TV and Beyond TV Link. This detailed review covers almost exactly what you are trying to accomplish:

And if you want to get television in your kitchen via a Hauppauge MediaMVP, this plug-in covers that:

Brad, what kind of problem are you having with audio on your ShowSqueeze'd WMV shows? Is the problem something that started with version 4.6?
This is very sad.
Jason, Do you have any data (or can you refer me to data) about user acceptance of software as a function of the software's memory footprint ? I "get it" as far as why this should be done (basically, smaller download, less obstrusive footprint = software more like service), but I'm wondering if you know anyone that's actually analyzed change in user acceptance when they've dropped their memory footprint and/or download size. TIA.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
