I would never buy a Kodak product, but was given an SV811 frame as a gift, It DOESN'T play any video, despite what the box/manual says. Manual is written on the level of a 1st grade schoolbook, no useful info, and the website it points you too also has No useful info. It's hard to believe Kodak is still in business. Their camera designs are ugly and have been since the 1960's, they've made terrible business decisions - 110 film format, APS film format, etc. Now this picture frame where the frame is almost as large as the image and the aspect ratio is all wrong for still images. Someone put them out of their misery...
The IP Television is annoyingly slow to respond to the remote (changing channels etc). There's a 'bug' in the system they don't talk about and don't seem to be concerned about: The image will 'zoom in' slightly so you're losing about 10-15% of the image around the edges. To correct it, you have to use the remote to change the aspect ratio, then back to normal aspect ratio. Also, the Tv box will go into 'sleep mode' after a while..Who would ever WANT that? Give me a scenario where a customer would WANT the screen to go blank?! It happened to me when I set the timer. I came back and it had recorded the 'sleep' blue screen.
I've put off buying a Digital SLR all these years because I really DISLIKE the shape of them - Those protruding grips do not fit my hand. Finally a 'normal' shaped D-SLR and I CAN'T BUY IT in the states! I currently use the Olympus C-770, which is the shape/size I like. (I wanted it in Black instead of silver, but again, Black not available in the states - thanks Olympus...)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
