Not dead pixels per say, but huge light leak problems from the edges of the LCD panel on 3 new iMac 20" 'ers. Returned first one as it was refurbished, I thought, "OK, it's refurbished." So went and bought a new one from an Apple retail store. Same problem. Took it back to the store. Much tooth pulling ensued. Eventually, they replaced it but said if I brought this one back with the same problem they would NOT replace it. Sure enough, it had the same problem. It is quite prominent when the screen is dark which makes it very difficult to show in the well lit Apple store. Makes DVDs unwatchable. Anyone else or did I just get 3 from the same bad batch?

I prodded Time Warner in Los Angeles for a 1394 equipped STB. After several tries (and quoting the FCC mandate), I finally got the box. I have been able to hook it up to my Mac and record transport streams (non-encrypted of course.) I use it as a backup to my eyetv 500 when there are two shows I want to record simultaneously. Getting the box was a pain though.
