If they made an android/web os/windows mobile app I'd be more excited since you could theoretically cut your voice service and pipe your calls through their app. That is unless they pull a vonage and charge per minute for mobile calls even if your a subscriber.
@glamajamma I know right? It certainly looks like a nicer phone than the one they sold to AT&T
@dblevins Because your 3D HDTV has ir ports for shutter glasses, as oppose to a regular HDTV which doesn't. Additionally, an HDTV for 3D needs at least 120hz tv.

Theoretically you could have your cablebox or bluray player have IR ports for 3D so long as you have a 120hz tv connected via hdmi, but that's not good enough when companies want to force you to buy all new equipment to replace your recently purchased HDTVs.
Oh wonderful, just what we need, another fucking monthly charge for a technology that should be free with purchase (read: DVR)

Anyway cablevision would rather die than let one of their customers get their hands on this tech, so I guess I'm out of luck.
@jporter313 Non existant probably. Sony seemed to be playing around with RealD, but the special screen they would need would raise the price too much. That's the problem with 3D now, there's a lot of movement into the field, but no real standards, and as such, the first few years of 3D are going to be a mess. Better off waiting till 2013 before you bother doing anything in 3D on a TV, and if your really looking for a dip, just get or build a computer that's compatible with Nvidia's already well established 3D shutter glasses system.
Yeah sure. 3DHDTV won't go anywhere until someone figures out a converter system for the already released 120hz TVs on the market, and even when they do that, it won't be 6-7 years until everyone is ready to chuck out their current TVs and get a fully compatible version. The fact that this technology has been available on PCs for years and no one's rushing out to buy it to me is proof enough that the consumer isn't to psyched to be buying shutter glasses.
@Rohan Now imagine when they have glasses free 3D TVs. Live P2P 3D HD porn sounds amazing.
@Mitch Yes, or you'll need a converter of some kind for a 120/240hz tv, but since 3d standards don't really exists, who knows when that will happen. Plus I think 3d isn't a good fit for sports. There are portions of Avatar you can tell were slowed down, yet still have an unforgivable motion blur. In sports, thing tend to move fast, so unless everyone gets 240hz tv so that the shutter glasses can operate a 120hz, I can't see how it will end differently from that cowboys game demonstration, not to mention that there aren't any users out there with 3d set ups, meaning that this is for a really small niche.
I hate cablevision. Hgtv actually got a lot of play in my house. It's bad enough that we're spending more money for cablevision than for sattilite, but now we're getting half the channels. It makes sense since this is the same shitty company that owns the knicks, the worst team in the NBA. I swear to god the minute that fios is available I'm jumping ship. Anything is better than cablevision and their shit hardware.
Man, Techcrunch should count themselves lucky they got screwed out of the Crunchpad now that competitors are comming out from all angles, including that rumored google tablet.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
