I am an average “pop” I guess. I have two sons 14 and 16. This Xmas I’m sure they’ll bamboozle me into buying them a PS3. But do not think for one minute I will allow them to hook it up to my new 1080p 60” DLP. Noooo way. That’s all I need; them sprawled out in the living room when I want to watch football. That PS3 will be hooked up to one of the regular TVs or computer monitors in their rooms. I'll just have to make do watching HD movies on an HD-DVD player.
Only $1000? Oh yeah I’m rushing out to buy this today! Rather, I think I'll invest $500 in the HD-DVD player. Why spend twice as much for a player that delivers the same image quality? 1080p? Who cares? You can’t even buy a TV yet that accepts 1080p input. You’d have to be nuts to buy this thing.
KABC, here in Los Angeles, started broadcasting their local news in HD today.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
