The PS3 plays BDs way better than any standalone in existence and it is Profile 1.1 compliant. But if you're really that much against using a game console because it goes against all that is holy or something, get the Panny BD30.
Nothing good? The guy who created this article must not have seen Paprika. That movie is AWESOME. It's probably the only thing I'll be picking up though. I would get Little Red Ridin- oops, I mean Jin-Roh, but its prohibitively high price tag is keeping me away.
HD DVD's doing a BOGO "fire sale" as well. Plus they're throwing an $80 boxset in for free with a player, plus they're doing the 5 free movies by mail thing.
Maybe it's different because they're giving away not only 5 free HD DVDs by mail, but copies of King Kong and Heroes on top of it. That's what makes it different from the 5 free BD promo and makes the HD DVD camp looks desperate.

The move to replace HD DVD with downloading begins.
Will Journeyman be the latest NBC casualty at the hands of David Caruso and his trusty sunglasses? Tune in to the Neilsens tomorrow to find out!

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
