Even at $599, I will buy a PS3 that includes the Blu-Ray player (as long as in November when it comes out, it still seems that Blu-Ray is going to be the winner, which to me seems to be true).
If so, then $600 for a next-gen system + next-gen DVD player is only $200 (or $300, depending on which level) more than the next-gen XBox.
Thus, for $200-$300 getting a Blu-Ray player when the current estimates are talking $1500+ for a player that won't ship until May.
Finally, getting the game system and player in a single cable to my Panny 50" Plasma which only has 3 HD inputs (1 HDMI and 2 component). That saves me an input on my TV which currently only has 1 free (Cable STB & xBox360) and not having to buy a separate switch-box...

"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
