Unfortunately, if you're a Comcast cable subscriber, you *won't* see this PPV in HD. Earlier this week, I finally heard - from a real human at Comcast - that they have *no* plans to carry PPV events in HD.
Thanks for the suggestion to try the "send an email to Rick" link. To my amazement, I ended up getting real feedback from a real person (someone named Dave). Unfortunately, though, it wasn't what I wanted to hear. Apparently Comcast has *no* plans to start offering PPV events in HD.

So, in my case at least, it's time to switch to DirecTV or Dish.
In my area (Mountain View, CA), Comcast recently added some new HD channels - but still does not offer pay-per-view events in HD. I have tried in vain to get any information from Comcast about if/when they plan to offer HD PPV events, but all I get is a canned response along the lines of "we are continuing to upgrade our service, but can't give any specific dates".

Does anyone know a way to get a meaningful non-canned response from Comcast? I want to know if I should just give up on them, bite the bullet, and switch to DirecTV or Dish...
Wonderful - Comcast gives us crap like this, but still not (at least, not in my area) PPV events (like the UFC) in HD. Sigh...
Yes, this is great - except for those of us who get Comcast cable. Does anyone have any idea of/when Comcast will start carrying HDNet?
This is great, but Comcast - at least in my area - does not carry HDNet. Does anyone know if there's any hope of Comcast carrying HDNet in the near future?
"Assuming your cable or satellite provider offers PPV HD". There's the rub. My cable provider (Comcast, Mountain View, CA - in the heart of Silicon Valley, no less) currently doesn't carry any HD PPV events. Sigh...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
