My 2000 Passat caught fire. Parked. In the garage. In the middle of the night. By the time it was over, there were 3 vehicles totalled and $500,000 of damage to my apartment building. The investigation pointed to an electrical problem in the Passat, but the damage was so severe, they couldn't tell for sure. That was my 3rd VW and last - they make the absolute worst cars on the road.
Unlikely. As a voice standard for LTE is still up in the air, handsets on vzw will (at least initially) will need to use CDMA IS95 (voice), same as every CDMA (1x, EVDO, and revA) handset does now. And VZW won't have all markets covered by LTE for a long time, so any handset sold by them will need to support CDMA voice and data.
Completely disagree. It wouldn't cost Tivo a dime to transfer my lifetime service to a new box. I like Tivo, but if they ever expect me to buy another one, they'll change their pricing. Otherwise, I'm going to go with whatever my cable or satellite company offers when I upgrade to HD.
Because the gas mileage of the G35 wasn't bad enough???
Former (and never again) VW owner chiming in. My 2000 Passat spontaneously combusted in the middle of the night. When it was all over, 3 vehicles were totaled and there was 1/4 million in damage to my apartment. The investigator said it was probably an electrical problem but couldn't make a definitive conclusion because the damage was so severe. But before the car self-immolated, I'd had to replace faulty airbag sensors, a set of ignition coils, a rear window lifter (5 times), and a radio that mysteriously turned down the volume for no apparent reason.

It's a shame - VWs are lovely cars and nicely appointed. But they are terribly unreliable. I'll never buy another and I insist that friends who have them park in the street when they come to visit.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
