they are showing up in Monterey, CA also.
Either "The Head" or Aeon Flux (the movie was ok, no where near as great as the series tho!!)
I don't know how many of you have actually used one of these, Oh and remember, it's OLPC One Laptop Per Child, not One Laptop Per Geek! I have used one and it's very easy to navigate, it took all of 2 minutes of wandering around the GUI to figure out what was going on, and yes, for someone who doesn't know computers at all, it might be a little more of a learning curve, but then so would any interface (yes even OSX or any other Linux GUI). The fact that it has a webcam and a self creating mesh network is very impressive!

And yes, as someone else said, they are ugly but they are designed for KIDS! not geeks, not adults, not teens. And I guess the Green and white could have been chosen to help their not being stolen!
A Timex Ironman (861 R1?)yes I looked on the back for the model number, =P
ya know, I had one of the Samsung t9s and it was a great device, it could do videos and even games. the problem was that there was no support for the device either from the manufacturer or 3rd party groups. So when the new zunes were announced (speaking of the 4 and 8s) I was excited. I don't like iTunes, and I was skeptical about goin Microsoft primarily because I figured they would put a DRM on everything. But I got one yesterday, tried the software and even bought DRM free music. It's actually pretty decent of a device. The touch pad is interesting because you can either click or slide your finger...

the one thing that does bug me, maybe I just haven't found it yet, is that I can't seem to turn off the wireless!
Wooo Hope I win something
I wonder, did those of you who got the invite download the video off the store? maybe that's how they are picking people because I didn't and I haven't gotten an invite yet.
to be fair, you were using the old version of windows MCE. If you were using the Vista version, you would have a lot of the same features. No it won't automatically turn things on (that's pretty cool) or automatically find media on your network. But most of your video complaints are addressed.
Extinction
What do you mean? how can I communicate with my PC?
and where is the option to stop it from loading the game?
Sure Why not! should we all join a folding group? I know Engadget has one.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
