I hate reality TV as much as the next guy, but knowing they got rid of an amazing show like "The Unit" only to start up a new show like "NCIS: Los Angeles" (with most likely an even higher budget.....movie star actor salaries) is just as annoying.

I guess the take home message from Ryan here is to support the DVD/Blu-Ray sales of "The Unit" and maybe Fox will bring it back like they did with Family Guy. Not likely, but just a thought.
You must not have very happy friends.
Why some people prefer 52" LCD over 67" LED RPTV at the same price point is beyond me.
Go niche (big) or go home!
It's almost the end of June and we still don't have pricing info???

My mom's pressuring me to find her a new TV. Looks like it might have to be a 61" or 67" LED set. Come on Mits, get your act in gear and give us prices already.
"Not getting any titles from them unless it has Lossless audio."
Amen to that.

I was all happy after reading this thinking "great, now I can buy Shooter for a decent price". But my dreams where shattered when I noticed that none of the original Paramount titles have anything better than DD or DTS.
Where's the Laser DLP and LED DLP love?
That would have been my vote had it been on the list.
To hell with the flat screens...unless of course they can offer what RPTV is offering at a similar price.
You don't need to own your own bird to offer this type of service and the current iDirect platform is perfect for all that they're "said" to offer. I'd say a single transponder is all they'd need if it's not a real time streaming service.
This is very intriguing, but depending on the size of the movies BD might still be the better way to go. 2TB is alot of storage, but not if the movies are >25GB a piece like on BD.....and what about backups, we don't all have 4TB (yet) dedicated to movie storage. Depending on price, it's shaping up to be an awesome way to rent movies. But like all new tech of this nature, it probably won't be offered in Canada for at least a year if ever.
@JBDragon

Uhhh, you can get it on Blu-ray as well.
This article is talking about Rise of the Silver Surfer....the second movie in the series. You can't get that on HD DVD, now can you?
It's so sad that the majority of the population doesn't do any research into buying their electronics.
"Oh, look how thin this one is...I'll take it"
It's this kind of attitude that will kill the RPTV and nothing else IMO.

For right now, the pros of some RPTV's outweigh the cons of it. Anyone even considering a new big screen needs to do themselves a favor and check out Samsung's LED DLP. No chance of burn in and the light source will last the life of the TV (theoretically). LCoS looks damn good as well, but unfortunately still rely on incandescent bulbs.

As soon as Laser RPTV and Laser Projectors come out, nothing else will even compare in picture quality....unless of course SED ever comes out.
If MGM is listening, please release Stargate SG-1 on Blu-ray already!
I own seasons 1-7 on DVD but will not touch seasons 8 through 10 until they're on Blu-ray.
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't SG-1 shot in HD since season 8?

Furthermore, Sony, where is Stargate Atlantis? It was announced back in early '06 that you'd be making it the first TV series on Blu-ray.

"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
