Wow and to think I only posted this here http://xbox.joystiq.com/2008/12/14/sunday-deals-retailers-go-discount-crazy/#c16105890 over 2 days ago. Read your own site much?
Best Buy is also giving away Xbox 360 Pro with purchase of TV. Check it out http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcmcat169100050015&type=category
Had to take down the original post at request of TiVo, oh well. Thanks for the credit though.
That standing cardboard is on all the players, it is on many players sold today. I got a DVD player 5+ years ago. I got my 5000 with it as well. There isn't anything special about it, don't worry.
I would say it made a shift in the top sellers. As of 8:55 AM EST Blu-Ray holds 17 of the top 25 DVD slots. That is crazy. I guess Amazon really moves some product with these BOGO.
Can't beat 7x27.95 + 23.95 for less than $90. 8 Movies for about $11 a piece. These BOGO's can build a collection fast, I am spending less on these movies than I did originally on DVD at this point.
I have two questions regarding this simulcast. Will it truly be one feed on multiple channels? Meaning one set of announcers and one set of cameras/truck? It will be interesting to see if their are any quality differences across the channels since they should all be 1080i MPEG-2.
The number one reason for me to get this is it is a single player that plays DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. Cuts down on confusion greatly for users. Also this is a high-end player regarding its SD DVD upconversion, having a Reon chip in it like the Toshiba XA2 and some more expensive Blu-Ray. It isn't really fair to compare what are often lower end players with this combo player. A XA2 and a Panasonic BD30, which is what you would need for similar features at least, is the same or higher cost.
According to question 32 at http://blogs.msdn.com/xboxteam/archive/2007/11/30/december-2007-video-playback-faq.aspx you can stream the other formats via Media Player 11, which can run on media center. I realize this isn't direct Media Extender but you can still stream from PC to 360.
Well I got my shipment notice and tracking number last night from Best Buy for my pre-order so I am pretty sure I am getting one. As a bonus I am getting it for $99.99 since I pre-ordered it when that was the price.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
