I got an email from them a couple weeks ago saying they are going to send invites soon but I never got one. I bet the company is already pleased with the pent up demand for this service. I doubt it will be free when final (any word on that) but it would be something cool to have a work when I have my laptop streaming awesome videos. I wanna try this!
A GBA Jet Grind Radio is hardly a replacement for the Dreamcast version. That's like expecting the version of Elder Scrolls to be as good as the one on XBOX. Shenmue and the original Soul Calibur never appeared on another platform although their sequels did. Also Virtua Fighter 2 and many of the other saturn fighting games were incredible and are classics.
I don't quite know how things are in Iowa but in Illinois the streets can be filthy. I don't think I will ever be picking up trash on Wabash or Michigan from others because one it's gross, two there's far too much of it. There are garbage cans everywhere too yet to some people they are just too far because they require effort. I'm no hippie but it would be nice for large cities in the US to be on par with large cities in Japan as far as cleanliness. For a lot of people it would seem like if the garbage can isn't magically under their hand when they wanna drop something it might as well not exist.
Yay! More upconverted BS. Do people not realize that it does not improve the picture at all? 480 blown up is still 480. Who cares if your TV or DVD player does it?
I know lots of people that bought a set because it is HD. Nevermind the fact that they still rent, but and watch VHS tapes on the thing in stead of DVDs. It's a big selling point. A lot of people go to a store to buy a TV and see it's HD and put their money down becuase they see that show X is in HD when they watch it on a SD TV. Most people don't realize what it takes to actually recieve HD. It's just salesmanship. People want to buy the best even if they don't need it. Look at all the people that but sports cars and just drive them to and from work.
S-Video cannot carry an HD signal. I think someone is missing the boat here. All S-Video contains is the composite signal split between chrominance and luminance. At the very least component video would be needed for HD. Just look on your TV. I assure you that S-Video is in line with your composite inputs. By the way PSP movies are being advertised as "DVD Quality". DVD isn't actually HD so there we have it. I am sure S-Video keeps things crisp, but I bet HD was thrown out prematurely.
Now everyone can play "Rat Dropings or Pubic Hair" from home while watching segments shot at Rupert Jee's Hello Deli.
Now everyone can see what a badass the Late Show bear really is.
I don't know if Plasma will be around simply because of the fact that every miniute you watch them they get darker. And while this is true with just about ever set DLP and LCD can have the lamps replaced and be as bright as day 1. Phosphors on CRT have the same issue as well but it is MUCH slower. I think that's really going to be plasmas downfall. Maybe SED will replace Plasma.
I think I am gonna Karate chop this glass and totally cop a feel on that TV.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
