Xgrid can be utilized by Visual Hub, and I assume other video encoders/decoders. Encoding DVDs, especially into HD (H.264) takes several hours(about 12 hours per movie on a G4) For people with a mac who want to transfer their video collections in HD for AppleTV, the Xgrid feature is nice.
Mustard is a plant. Mustard the condiment is made from the seeds of the mustard plant.
I have no idea what the origin of the phrase, but I'm pretty sure it refers to the plant.
Okay, Good effort by Ben, but... the name of the mod is sadistic marketing ploy- is it a controller usable on both consoles? Is it an Xbox controller or a Playstation or PS2 or PS3 controller? No, its more like an ad for SIXAXIS. The "PS360" name ruins this for at least half of the endgaget audience if not more.
Adam A, Dantes within his rights- who are you to tell anyone to get off Endgadget?
I heard (forgot where) that it was a severely Underclocked CPU, which makes sense (runs cooler) And the GPU could do the heavy lifting for HD. Think Drew, think!
Star Wars? My first thought was- can this safely provide a decent hand job? ;)
People, including me, criticized iPod for the same things: unimpressive, overpriced, other products do it better- We underestimated its synergy with the iTunes Store. This unit also has flashable firmware- HD shows, Games, and video-goodness coming in the future, and no need to choose Blu-ray or HD-DVD units. (I could stream/copy disc content from my PC if I needed) Although I would like to see an autopsy- Break open the sucker already! What makes it tick?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
