You've got your studios mixed up again. Paramount handles Dreamworks domestic video releases, not Universal. So, when Transformers hits video, expect to see both HD DVD and Blu-ray, if both are still around.
"Close Encounters" is a Columbia Pictures release. (See: Sony)
Besides, right around the time when the HD DVD Forum jumped the gun announcing a bunch "Spielberg" titles from Universal, he made them take down his movies off the release list. He also stated that he wouldn't give the studio his "OK" while a format war was going.
What makes me laugh is what Katzenberg said. It was Dreamworks and Disney that CHOSE to go the Divx disc route versus the DVD route 11 years ago, and they got burned. Neither studio had DVD product on the market for nearly two years after DVD's introduction.
So it doesn't surprise me a bit "K" in SKG would say such a thing.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
