DVI can work with HDCP as well. A *few* older HDTV's with DVI did not support HDCP. The bigger issue will be with people using computer monitors via DVI, which are more likely to not support HDCP (although some still do).

VGA or component of course remains an option for virtually all of these people though.
Agree with EQC - how can you conclude it's worse than the Sharp with such limited exposure? The way things are outsourced to OEMs these days, there's a good chance it's the same player.
controllers/charger, maybe a wheel.
nope. i'd rather die than give up my DVR. Now when the HD-TIVO is cheaper, i'll consider that along with its required Cable card x 2.
HD-DVR via TWC currently (but whatever it takes for HD + DVR action without selling my kidney on the black market to pay for it).
24 and all HD sports, especially NFL in HD

24 and all HD sports, especially NFL football.
the studios have already enabled HDCP on digital outputs for this reason exactly - they want to avoid digital copies. now, the image constraint token that limits output resolution on component video will probably not be enabled solely because of this device since this has nothign to do with recording from component. further, thsi device will undoubtedly not support hdcp recording.
well of course it's 1080i - it's on NBC, a 1080i network. The same goes for GMA, which is on ABC, a 720p network. I would hardly call this fact "interesting enough."
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
