Here is another vote for the Dlink DGL4300. I have never had a router this stable. Other than a power outage or two, it has NEVER even had to be power cycled.

I am very sorry to hear this. Losing a father is difficult, I know because it happened to me a couple of weeks ago. During this event, I have been hopeful that it would end positively. My thoughts are with the Kims as they figure out how to continue on with out a wonder father like James.

If you want to crush your black and increase your contrast, 2 steps up on contrast and 2 steps down on brightness should get the same result.

No, for a first SLR get the old 20D or a Rebel. This isn't much of an upgrade. Certainly not enough to get me to spend any money.
