"This post is being linked to from Engadget and 10 other blogs."

Maybe those eleven other blogs need to wake up and quit doing that.
I like the post's Update, to paraphrase: "turns out this is all a poorly-researched lie. Go trawl the comments to find out why, because we can't be bothered to put it here."

Too much to ask, I suppose, to either ax the post or edit it properly.
Plenty of recompiles in the appstore. Most of the bubble level apps do little more than the sample code in the SDK. I recall that I saw a periodic table of elements app that is the Elements sample app. Not only a rip-off, but imagine the level of support you're going to get from someone that can only compile someone else's code.
I have an online sub that comes with my prepaid account. Now they want *another* $3/month for the iPhone app. So, no, being able to stream through a web browser does not mean necessarily mean one gets to stream via the app.
$3/month for existing subscribers? When I get web streaming for free? Bah, knew I shouldn't have fallen for the prepaid XM two years ago. When that runs out, I'm done with Sirius/XM.
Multiple monitors == won't work. Holy crap, that's unbelievably lame. Guess I'll stick with the Slingbox.

@Hollywood, no it won't work outside of your home network.
No need to wait for an iPhone, my HTC Advantage already does everything I need from a GPS most of the time, with 5 inch 640x480 display. Now, everyone seems to agree that $800 for the Advantage is expensive, but it also does a little more than just tell you where you are.

On the other hand, comparing an iPhone or WinMob PDA to a dedicated GPS for more than just driving directions is ridiculous. I don't think I'd rely on an iPhone while boating or in the woods. If you're just looking for the nearest Starbucks, a Garmin probably isn't the unit for you.
I've never had a land line connected to my HR20, just ethernet, and on-demand works fine.
Oh, man, an MPx? I'd love that little blast from the not-so-distant past.
Even the power option isn't news. I've had that on my Polar 720i for a couple of years now. Seems the innovation is the wireless functionality that eliminates a handful of wires that the 720/725 uses for power measurement.

@rrfrench: Polar had all the functions you reference before the first Forerunner even came out. Back to the fanboy closet with you. The power measurement accuracy is just fine. SRM, et. al. are more accurate, but outside the lab the Polar is accurate enough.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
