I have a co-worker that got to go to the show as well. He took a ton of pictures, most of which centering around the Challenger. He said it was an awesome time. His favorite part was actually getting to sit in the SRT they unveiled on Wed.
Trust me Greg, they got it all right! I can't wait to see better pics of the interior, but from what you can see in the photo it looks pretty nice! I'm definitely in love with the instrument panel and shifter. I can't wait until next week when the SRT production is released.
This is pretty big news, but I'm not sure its new news. For the most part, picture quality is an opinion. How are LED's different than OLED's? I know LED's have been used on DLP televisions making them much more reliable and give the display longer lives. I've heard they can last between 50k - 100k hours without any fading. LED technology has also allowed DLP sets to produce 40% more color than other technologies. So IMO, yes the picture quality on OLED's is better than plasma and LCD.
This auction is pretty cool and I'm glad the money is going to charity. It's also pretty neat the winner gets, two VIP passes to the Dodge Challenger 500 and a meet-and-greet session with Kyle Petty.
This is my understanding as well. The laser television will be very similar to the LED DLP's now. They will also have the same benefits. LED DLP's provide a wider range of colors while using much less energy than other technologies. They are also very reliable as well.
Not being able to "screen watch" will be huge in the gaming community. I'm interested to see how popular this becomes in the future. I'd love to get a DLP 3D television for this as well as for watching 3D movies. Unlike being in the theaters, you don't have to wear the glasses!
I know LED's gave DLP televisions ridiculous contrast rations and increased color levels. I'm excited to see where laser televisions will take DLP technology.
Seems pretty cool, but I'm really waiting on the Challenger. I think that thing looks sexy as hell and will be the big release of 08!
The 3 chip DLP's definitely have the 3LCD projectors beat on PQ and is great because of the elimination of the rainbow effect. In general, I believe DLP projectors are favored because they don't experience color fade or discoloration over time, and are generally more durable than LCD panels.
I really like the safety feature they put on the GO 720. I'm surprised something like this wasn't thought of sooner. There's no doubt the Map Share will be a hit. I'm curious too see this device when it comes out.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
