hulu claim that the poor ps3 browser was why they blocked it. you can overcome that using a proxy which will rewrite user agent, which I tried, and discovered that the hulu site will crash the ps3 browser.

the youtubeXL site also kills the browser also kills the PS3 browser, thus rendering is useless - it can crash very soon after starting so you can't even navigate to the normal page!

hopefully this means hulu won't have any excuses, or at least, their excuses will seem very fragile!

the ps3 browser is only really useful for the BBC iplayer "application". I would guess the Beeb had to work quite hard to ensure their HTML was clean and didn't kill the PS3!!

IIRC, the ps3 browser is netfront, which is pretty dated.

it is a real GPS receiver, the "A" in assisted means you can "seed" the receiver, with almanac data downloaded over the internet to get a faster fix. if you're offline (no wifi or 3g or gsm) then it will get a fix only a little slower.

the nokia tablets make a v good reader, the v high res screen mean rendering fonts is very smooth.

the only downside is that portrait mode isn't supported by default, you have to jump through a few hoops.

I still use my old Palm T3 for ebooks, 'cos of the DRM, but in general I avoid buying/downloading such things unless the book is hard to get hold of (at least with paper books you can sell or give them away).

the stanza app on iphone/ipod touch is a very neat program for reading and downloading free books.
